Join Me in Celebrating the Mitzvah of the Moon!
Hi, I’m Lisa Capehart, the creator of the Rosh Chodesh Journaling Planner. I’m a Jew by Choice and I learned that Rosh Chodesh was a mitzvah during my conversion process. I had been working with the moon cycles for many years, so this discovery resonated with me, and I was grateful for the deeper meaning of this spiritual practice.
I’ve used other journals throughout the years, but I wanted to make this one different and more inclusive of the ways that we modern, liberal Jewish women celebrate our Judaism and practice spirituality. Some of us enjoy including Tarot, Oracle, or Affirmation cards in our practice, not for fortune-telling but to tune into our inner knowing. Others are inspired by the Chakra System, Astrology, or the mystical realm of Kabbalah, as well as the traditional observances of Jewish holidays and the weekly Torah portions.
I wanted to make sure that there were elements on the pages of the Journaling Planner that allowed space for all of this. And, with lots of open grid space for planning, making to-do lists, or just doodling while talking on the phone. Another thing that was important to me was to present two separate calendars—one Jewish and one Secular, avoiding the “overlay confusion” that is so common on calendars that combine the two.
So, you could say I created this journal for myself…yet with all of you in mind!
Now, I want to share it with you! The Rosh Chodesh Journaling Planner is specifically for Jewish women who wish to deepen their spiritual practice by listening to their inner spark, nurturing it with love, and living the result. I hope you will be creative and make it your own, using it as suits your needs.
Thank you for coming on this journey with me! And, please, I’d love to hear your thoughts as you use the Journaling Planner, so I can make it better each year. Please send me an email and follow me on Facebook and Instagram.
L’Shalom!
